the mission
Tell.A.Tourist 2012 runs from Friday 6th July to Friday 20th July 2012. We're looking for Christians in the 18 to 30 age group who want to learn about and do mission. It's a unique opportunity to meet people from all over the world in one place and get trained.
Tell.A.Tourist provides an opportunity for young people to have a taste of Mission without leaving the UK. Chester is a window on the world. If you take up the challenge you can chat with people of different races and religions. There are also many British holiday makers and thousands of local people.
The mission takes place in the historic city of Chester in the North of England.
Our methods include:
- An exhibition stand and literature table inside Chester Cathedral.
- Evening coffee bars at the over 1000 year old St Peter's Church.
- Making conversations with tourists using questionnaires.
- Gathering crowds by using sketchboard, visual aids and drama.
- Distributing Gospels and scripture booklets in over 50 languages.
- Continuous prayer meeting during all the hours the team are out witnessing.
- Some past team members will be returning to work alongside you.
